World's Best Grilled Steak

"Tender juicy steaks on the grill are one of life's pleasures. This is the best marinade we have ever come across. It is the perfect blend of flavors and it leaves the meat tender without being overpowering. Note: I'm not sure of the origins of this recipe, I don't see a duplicate. Will post a picture."

  1. The best Steak recipe ever. I do not know if anyone has tried to improve on it, but I tried, and I feel I did. I used 1/8 cup less soy sauce and let it soak in a baggy instead. I tried it both ways and several times and this seems to be the best by far.

  2. I usually don't marinade steaks unless it's a tough cut like London Broil or Flank steak. But this marinade was awesome. I made it for Father's Day and my family loved it. I didn't have Oregano on hand but it wasn't missed. Can't wait to use it with a thicker cut meat like a sirloin roast!

  3. This is a MUST. I always marinate a steak but still insist on using A1, just because I love the taste of A1. I brought out the A1 as usual for this steak, but per usual took a bite first to taste the steak with only the seasonings, and was blown away. I couldn't bring myself to put A1 on this. The flavors work so great together.

  4. Amazing! Followed the directions with no changes. Very easy to make. I marinaded the steaks for 4 hours then brought to room temp before placing on the grill. Everyone loved them. Perfect blend of flavors. Thank you for sharing, Chef Dee!

  5. maybe for someone who doesn't like the taste of steak. i thought this recipe was terrible, completely hides the taste of the meat, too salty, and the soy sauce just obliterates everything else. not sure which world they're referring to, but definitely not planet earth. the tried and true brushed on butter and olive oil seasoned with pepper and salt is worlds better than this.

Tweaks

  1. A teaspoon or two of brown sugar works very well in this marinade, also. Many great beef, pork and chicken marinades & dry rubs for BBQ or grilling include the brown sugar for a caramelizing depth of flavor.

  2. I decided to make a few changes to the recipe. I used only 1/3 cup of Soy Sauce, 2 teaspoons of BBQ sauce instead of ketchup, and 1 teaspoon of cayenne pepper instead of black pepper. This turned out to be one of the most flavorful and tender steaks I've grilled!

  4. This was very good! I am making it a second time tonight and will follow the directions exactly and will update my review. The first time I substituted 1/2 the soy sauce for worcestershire sauce like previous reviewers suggested but I think it would have more zip with all soy (I use low sodium soy). My three young kids have been begging to have this again. It tasts slightly sweet and the meet was so tender. A definate keeper in our house!
