directions

  • Start with a sponge. Mix together all ingredients except for the flour in your kitchenaide mixer stand. Add 1 1/2 cups of the flour and let stand for 30 minutes till bubbly in mixer bowl. Then add in the remaining flour till the dough is ready to rise in a greased bowl. The dough should not be sticky and springs back when touched. Let rise for 1 1/2 - 2 hours or double in size in a greased bowl covered with plastic wrap. Form dough into a loaf and place in your loaf pan. Let rise another 30-45 minutes till double. Bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes. Butter the top when done and let cool.

  1. A great loaf of wholewheat bread! I threw caution to the winds and put all the ingredients in my bread machine, on normal cycle. It came out a perfect 1 1/2 lb loaf. This is my new WW bread recipe. Thanks, Carole in Orlando

  2. Easy bread to make and tasty. Used less honey than recipe called for and it still was excellent in flavour. But where did I go wrong because it was exceptionally light and didn't cut well. Had to do door steps.

  3. This was very good! I think as a dinner side dish bread, next time I might add a bit more salt and maybe toast the sunflower seeds, but the texture was excellent and it was tasty as is. I'll be making this again for sure!

  4. This bread was very good and easy - made it in my Kitchenaide stand mixer. The dough was a little too sticky, even after the first rise, so I kneaded a few extra Tbsp of ww flour in. Turned out great, was still very moist. I used raw honey and walnut oil - and will definitely make again! Thank you!

  5. THE BEST WW LOAF EVER! I am hooked.
