1. I loved this recipe and let me tell you the leftovers didn't last long. I accidently bought mushroom gravy mix and used it, added mushrooms and doubled the gravy mix so I was sure to have some left for the next day. It made a wonderful lunch with egg noodles. Thank you so much. I will definately make this one again.

 2. Whee-hooo! Lemme say rite now, folks, that you ain't never had a more tender piece o' meat than this! (why, Granny didn't even haf' ta' put in her teeth to eat thissun!) Naw, seriously, tho this do be mighty good, and tha gravy is a pur't' delight! Now be sure to make some mashed taters to go wid this, 'cause the gravy be beggin' for it!

 3. Britt, this is a wonderful dish! Most crock pot meals have a rather bland, expected sort of taste. Not this one! The gravy is great, and the steaks are exceptionally tender. This recipe will be used at my house time and time again!

Tweaks

 1. Excellent way to cook cube steaks for working families! I followed the recipe but used a can of french onion soup instead of the 2 cups of water and gravy mix. I also seasoned the meat with salt, pepper and garlic powder. Came out yummy and family devoured the meal and no leftovers.

 2. Made as directed only doing following changes;

Brown gravy mix instead of onion gravy mix. 3T onion flakes, 2 onions sliced thin and garlic powder.
Cooked 6-7 hours on high. Was not mushy like other reviewers stated. BF loved it!
Served with mashed potatoes and sautéed mushrooms. Will make again.
The smell while cooking was incredible!!

 3. This just didn't suit my taste at all. The texture of the meat was like beef flavored tuna. I am giving this three stars because my daughter ended up loving it, and also because it made a really good gravy. I really wish I had used a 2 or 3 lb chuck roast instead of the cube steak.

 4. Fantastic! This is the first cube steak recipe I could get my oldest son to eat. The rule at my house is that you have to try a bite, and after his one bite, he asked for more! Delicious, tender cube steak. I subbed brown gravy for the onion gravy mix. I make this recipe in a skillet too, but will use the crockpot from now on. SO easy, and SO good!

 5. This recipie is great! I changed it a little, substituted beef broth for the water, added sliced onion, and I didn't fry the steak before adding it to the crockpot. If I'm going to cook in the crockpot, it's doing all the work, not me. It turned out great. Gravy was nice and thick, and brown. Everyone loved it!
