Peanut Butter, Jelly, and Chip Sandwich

"My younger brother and I would always take our potato chips and put them inside our PB&J sandwich. We loved the crunch! And, the saltiness of the chips really off-sets the sweetness of the sandwich. I think we got the idea from an episode of the Cosby Show after seeing Cliff Huxtable line his hoagie with potato chips and wash it all down with grape soda!"

  1. Oh yeah this is great! My kids always put potato chips on their tuna sandwiches but never tried it with PBJ. I used whole grain bread, raspberry jelly, and baked Lays and loved it - thanks for sharing the recipe!

  2. My brother and I ate these as kids. He would only use grape jelly on his PB&J's, but I like grape and apple jelly. My grandboys now eat these and won't even touch a PB&J unless it's got chips on it.

  3. Verrry good! I had never thought to add chips! I used some bar-b-que lays, and it was tasty! Seems like a gross mix, but they actually worked great together! Thanks! :)

  4. I have done this since I was a kid too! I love it and still do it. Now my daughter does the same!!

  5. I just came across this and I don't need to try it because I have done this since I was a kid. And still do if I eat at PB & J sandwich and have chips to go with it. Into the sandwich they go. They make it nice and crunchy. I am so glad that you posted this simple sandwich. I wish more kids would try it. Yummy! Thank you, princesskim.
