Burnished Bananas

  • Preheat oven to 400F.
  • Lay unpeeled banana on the oven rack and roast for 15 minutes.
  • The skin will be a uniform black-brown and the inside will be soft.
  • Using a sharp knife, slit the banana from end to end.
  • Drizzle with honey and if desired, rum.
  • Eat with a spoon.

  1. Reviewed for ZWT3. Loved it! Had a banana that was on its way to the trash (not gone, but going). It was wonderful! I didn't use that much honey, and used a full teaspoon of rum -- it was enough. Very good!
     
  2. This is a great way to get rid of bananas when they are just about to turn. I recommend using a lot of honey - but I do have a sweet tooth. I only made one change, I sprinkled them with a bit of cinnamon and sugar. Just make sure you eat them quickly – while they are still hot.
