  1. Oh no, a taste for potato salad and no Miracle Whip in the house! Found this recipe and gave it a try. It was very delicious made with mayo. I just added crisp bacon pieces like Grandma used to do.

  2. Reviewing it again after having made it several times. This last time was the best yet after cutting the sugar in half and adding about a teaspoon of horseradish. The flavors need a bit longer to blend and develop, but this is my favorite potato salad recipe ever!

  3. Just Made this, I cant wait to taste it however I did not use the sugar red cider or sour cream to sweeten, instead I used 1 cup minced bread and butter pickles with about 2 tablespoons of the vinegar in. So far it smells delicious and tastes great can't wait for them taters to get done!

  4. I can't have mayo. Can I sub all sour cream instead?

  5. I used a 5 lb bag of red potatoes and added 1/2 cup crumbled bacon. The dressing can also be poured over baked potatoes. It's good cold but we prefer it hot.

Tweaks

  1. This is so amazingly good! I did omit the vinegar and used celery instead of the seeds & it turned out great.I found this reciepe last week and have made it twice as everyone loves it! Thanks for a great recipe.

  2. This is a fantastic potato salad recipe, and has quickly become a family favorite. Because I don't like a strong onion flavor, I like to substitute french onion dip in place of sour cream. It comes out so wonderfully every time. Thanks for this KEEPER!

After DH and I moved away from the farm, and to the city...I haven't done as much cooking and very little canning. But I do come to Zaar and look for new recipes once in a while. I'm still cooking Zaar!! I like to play at Facebook, with my family and friends. A lot of my Zaar friends are there!! Yay! It's a good way to keep in touch. We travel more. We're looking at the European trips now. Hope to go in the springtime. I really want to see London, I think I lived there in a past life, I've been obsessed with it since I was 10 years old!!
