Spiced Orange Tea, Hot or Cold

"I found this recipe in a book I picked up at a thrift shop. I'm not really a tea drinker so like to find ways to get those good anti-oxidants without the tea taste. This is all orange & spice so I quite liked it. I didn't have whole cloves so made mine with a dash of ground cloves instead. I had one cup warm & then put the rest in the fridge to have iced, it was nice both ways."

  1. I made this tasty tea today to have with my lunch. It was good served cold. I found it very refreshing. I made half the recipe but kept all of the spices because I love spices. I also left the orange rind in my glass for added flavour. I will be making this quick and easy to make tea again. I love that the honey brings out all of the individual flavours. Thanks for sharing your lovely tea recipe Mandy.

  2. I am sitting here at my computer with a tall glass of iced cold Spiced Orange Tea, and this is one of the best spice tea recipes that I have tried in a loooong time. A very nice balance of flavors. And not overly spiced like so many of the store bought brands that I have tried(and thrown away). Thanks for sharing this recipe Mandy.

  3. I enjoyed this hot, and the flavors were great. Very comforting on a very damp day. I used Irish Breakfast tea, and for the honey, I used ~Rita~'s Recipe #223086. I will be trying this iced during the summer. Made for Winter 2010 Comfort Cafe game.

  4. Made this recipe and served the tea hot for guests. The flavors were a bit strong for our taste. Not sure if it was the cloves or the cinnamon or the combination of both. I really liked the idea of the orange zest and orange juice to add to the tea. I think next time, I will cut down on the cinnamon and cloves. Thanks for sharing your recipe.

Melbourne I live on a 5 acre property in the Dandenong Ranges Victoria, Australia, having moved from the burbs when I became pregnant with my now 15 year old daughter Alyssa. Once my daughter was born I became a stay at home mum as I couldn't bear the thought of putting her in daycare. She is the light of my life, I never imagined myself as a mum when younger but now wouldn't have it any other way. Alyssa was made a big sister on the 19th April 2010 when our cheeky little boy Blake was born. I love cooking and experimenting with new recipes so quickly become addicted to Zaar as it was previously known & still use it regularly. In addition to being my kids taxi  I also spend my time, reading, gardening and of course shopping. I'm lucky enough that we have the space & so love growing our own fruits, vegies & herbs, this also means we have plenty of room for animals & at the moment have 2 dogs, Max, a Jackshund who's 6, Fletcher, a Kelpie who's 4, 6 cats Snowpea, Fergus, Ginger, Tango, Annie & Cookie, 4 chooks & 2 Ducks. As well as our pets, we also have a lot of native animals around our area, we have kangaroos, wombats, echidna's, possums as well as rosella's, galah's & Cockatoo's hence the name of where I live..
