Fabulous Barbecue Meatballs
"My friend Paula gave me this recipe years ago and I make it frequently. My family loves these meatballs. This goes together really quickly and they turn out so sweet, moist and delicious!"

Meatballs
- 2 lbs ground chuck
- 1 (12 ounce) can evaporated milk
- 2 large eggs
- 2 cups quick oats
- 1 cup chopped onion
- 2 teaspoons garlic salt
- 1⁄2 teaspoon pepper
- 2 teaspoons chili powder

Sauce
- 2 cups ketchup
- 1 1⁄2 cups brown sugar
- 2 teaspoons liquid smoke
- 1 cup barbecue sauce
directions
- Mix all meatball ingredients together and form into balls. I use my largest ice cream/cookie scoop and place them in a 12x16-inch pan.
- Mix sauce ingredients and pour over meatballs. Bake at 350°F uncovered for 1 hour.

These were delicious! We had it for dinner, DH took some for lunch the next day, and I was still able to freeze a whole meal's worth out of this recipe. I purchased liquid smoke for this, but couldn't find it in my cabinets so I made it without. Still tasted great!

I have loved cooking all my life. Over the years, friends have said I should open a restaurant. I just enjoy cooking for others and I also enjoy eating and trying new foods. I have three grown children and three grandchildren who live with me. I lost my husband almost two years ago. He loved to eat and was always game for trying new dishes. We lived in Puerto Rico and on Guam so we loved trying all the dishes of each of those islands and other places we visited during our 37 year marriage. I'm enjoying this website so much. I have a trillion cookbooks but I rarely look at them anymore because of Zaar. Rarely a day passes that I don't see what's cooking here. Thanks to all the lovely people who share their favorite recipes. I'm going to start posting some of mine soon.
