"My kids say these are absolutely the best chocolate chip cookies ever. I usually put aside an afternoon and bake three batches because one batch doesn't make it past the second day."

ingredients
- 2 1⁄4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1⁄2 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup butter, softened
- 3⁄4 cup white sugar
- 3⁄4 cup packed light brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 2 large eggs
- 2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
- 1 cup chopped nuts (optional)
directions
- Combine flour, baking soda and salt.
- Cream together butter, sugars and vanilla until light.
- Add eggs; beat well.
- Gradually add flour mixture, beating well.
- Stir in chocolate chips and nuts.
- Drop by rounded teaspoons onto ungreased cookie sheets.
- Bake at 375° for 8-10 minutes or until lightly browned.

Made 'em for the third time tonight -- a double batch. Family favorite, and easy. In my oven, 350 degrees and 6 minutes is just right. -
these were a hit with my hubby and kids!! i might use a bit less white sugar next time....and i used dark chocolate chips but those are just preferences :) -
This is a fantastic recipe, I also added 1/2 cup chopped pecans and 1/2 cup flaked coconut, with a mixture of dark, white and milk chocolate chips. The house smells divine. Thank you
