- 2 1⁄2 cups water
- 1 teaspoon cardamom
- 3 whole black peppercorns
- 2 slices fresh ginger, peeled
- 1 cinnamon stick
- 2 cloves
- 2⁄3 cup milk
- 4 teaspoons sugar
- 3 teaspoons loose black tea (or tea bags)
directions
- Put the water in a saucepan, add the spices, and bring to a low boil.
- Turn down the heat and let simmer for 4 to 10 minutes.
- Add milk and sugar and bring to a heavy simmer.
- Add tea, turn off the heat, and let steep for 2 to 3 minutes.
- Strain into two cups and serve hot.

Fabulous reipe. Followed as is only used 1/2 water 1/2 milk, just for our preferences... and used cardamom pods instead of ground cardamom. We make our tea a bit stronger, but that doesnt alter this recipe at all. Cant believe DH wanted hot tea on a day when it was 100 degrees F.,..haha he thoroughly enjoyed this as did I. Thank you very much! This will be even BETTER during the winter :)
