Zesty Mushrooms

"These mushrooms are the best! We like to serve them with steak, pasta, in omelettes, on hamburgers or just alone. The recipe I am posting makes alot so you might want to adjust for your needs. You can either slice, quarter or leave the mushrooms whole, whatever you prefer But they do freeze well. Enjoy!"

  • 6 (8 ounce) boxes button mushrooms, sliced (or quartered, or your choice of type)
  • 2 (5/8 ounce) packages Good Seasonings Italian salad dressing mix (I use the Zesty type)
  • 1 cup butter (do not use margarine)

directions

  • In large fry pan melt butter over medium heat add mushrooms and simmer until mushrooms are tender. Add packages of Zesty Italian Seasoning and let simmer until some of the moisture from the mushrooms has evaporated. Serve warm as desired!

  2. These are wonderful and so easy to prepare. We served these with pot roast and then the leftovers we put over pasta with some sausage and olive oil. Either way, delicious. Thanks!

<p>I'm retired since August 2007 after 20 years from a library in central Wisconsin. I guess you could say my hobby is cooking. My husband has even gained weight since I am home more. <br /><br />I love trying new recipes and just started smoking food in my new smoker. So far I have only made salmon and turkey. Both turned out good. <br />We have two grown children and two granddaughters. <br /><br />We also love camping and try to go often. My husband loves fishing and hunting so we have alot of fish and venison and the freezer. <br /><br />I love Zaar and visit the site almost every day. I really love it when I get a good review on one of my recipes. I just wish members would alow zaar mail fo I could thank them for the review.</p>
