  1. this was amazing! i was doubting it would work at first but it tastes just like the real thing! i haven't had a tuna sandwich in 12 years, this tastes like my childhood. thank you so much for this recipe!

  2. HOLY FRIJOLE! This is AWESOME good! You will NOT believe it has no tuna! I used about half a can of black olives (because I'm a black olive freak!) but everything else the same and it was crazy good! a MUST HAVE in your vegan repertoire.

  3. Call this Vegetarian Mock Tuna Salad and I bet you'd get tons of hits on it! Sounds delicious.

  4. I loved this salad! I halved the recipe, used slightly more chopped black olives, served with crackers. I used about 1 tbls. of mayo. Thanks! Made for Cookbook tag.

  5. I don't know when a recipe that is so simple has given me so much pleasure. The flavors are delicious and do, indeed, taste like tuna salad without the fishy smell. I mashed the garbanzo beans and added the green onions, celery seed, a double portion of chopped salad olives, a generous sifting of dried dill weed. I bound the salad together with a full tablespoon of Dukes Sandwich spread which contains chopped pickles, and with enough plain Duke's Mayonnaise to complete the binding process. It was great just after I fixed it, but even greater after sitting in the refrigerator for a couple of hours to allow the flavors to meld. I'm afraid that "Charlie the Tuna" will not be gracing my table again in a salad, but perhaps for a casserole! The salad would be good on pita or a rustic bread. Thanks Mini R for this very special recipe!
