directions

 • Place all ingredients (except honey) in a large pot. Bring to a boil. Turn off heat and steep for about 10 minutes.
 • Strain into a pitcher (I like to leave the cinnamon sticks in the pitcher for extra flavor). Stir in honey while still warm.
 • Store pitcher in refrigerator. Reheat one cup at a time in the microwave, adding more honey to taste, if desired. Drink twice a day, breathing steam through nose, for maximum benefit.

 1. This is better than my favorite herb tea made from a tea bag and much cheaper. No colds or flu in my house, but it is swirling all around. I am on my second cup this morning, looking out the window at the dreary wet weather--but I feel all warm and comfy. Thanks so much for posting.

 2. I had all the ingredients at home / in the garden. Perfect fo this cold winter weather.

Very simple recipe and delicious tea. The children wanted more!

 3. I just happened to have all of the ingredients like she said. Right before I added the sage, I realized that sage dries up your milk if you're nursing so I did not add it. Since the tea is for a cold, you want drying herbs. I did not have a cold or flu but this sounded really good so maybe I prevented one. This is a good mix. It was very soothing and warming. It was delicious! I added some rose and later, when I added the honey, I put in a few drops of some herbal syrups that I made. It turned out so good!

 4. OUTSTANDING TEA! My other half & I really enjoyed this easy-to-make, great-tasting drink! I don't recall ever having the flu, but sore throats & sniffles are another matter! Thanks for a really great keeper of a recipe! [Tagged, made & reviewed for one of my Vegan partners in the Vegetarian/Vegan Recipe Swap #7]

 5. Ten stars!!! PLEASE try this! :D Not only is this simple, it is one of the most pleasant and delicious herbal teas I have enjoyed, and I drink a LOT of herbal tea! I have already made four batches, and given some away, the blend of spicy and fragrant, with a touch of sweet, is irresistible, don't wait to have a cold or flu, just brew and enjoy! This is equally delicious as an iced tea, I happily drank it straight out of the fridge. I didn't add extra honey since I'm not a great sweet lover, for me (and for my DH), this is already sweet enough. Thank you so much for this, Prose, its a wonderful wonderful brew!
