  1. made this to go with pancakes. It was easy and awsome. To my surprise my non sweet eating husband really liked it. I feel like I want to serve it with apples or ice cream. A keeper for sure.

  2. WOW this syrup turned out quite thick! It thickened so quickly on my stovetop! But it was delicious. I increased the cinnamon to 1 tsp & used Splenda. I also used cornstarch per previous suggestions & that was a good thing. It smelled & tasted delicious. Thanks SO much!

  3. Quick and easy to make and tastes great. A little too thick for my liking but easily remedied by adding more water. Did not alter the flavor at all.

  4. Love cinnamon ice cream with apple pie but it is hard to find here. So I used this syrup to drizzle over my apple pie and vanilla ice cream when served. Delish. Added an additional 1/2 tsp of cinnamon and a few drops of vanilla and used corn starch rather than flour for clarity. Perfect!

  5. Tastes nice, easy recipe, but too thick. I will try it next time with 1 tbsp of corn starch or flour. I also increased the cinnamon to 1 tsp. it's more a sauce than a syrup.

Tweaks

  1. This is incredibly delicious syrup. I used ginger instead of cinnamon so this would become a blood type B friendly recipe. Then I poured it on top of the Oatmeal Cottage Cheese Pancake recipe found on this site. Perfect texture considering the fact that I wanted a syrup that was thick without using corn syrup. Thank you...Sallyanne...for contributing to my collection of fabulous recipes. Sincerely, Sherry Belle

  2. Oh My Goodness....Fantastic on pumpkin pancakes....Added more cinnamon too....MUST try.....Will try the cornstarch instead of flour just to see the difference next time....

  3. OMG this is so Amazing!! thank you. I even used it to pour over my apple dumplings and my daughter puts peanut butter on her pancakes, so instead of butter I used peanut butter for her and she loves it!!! I love it in my coffee as well.

  4. Wow this was so good!! We eat a lot of waffles now that I have a waffle maker, usually we use maple syrup but I thought I would try something different. Words cannot even describe how awesome tasting this stuff is! I used a full teaspoon of cinnamon as my family loves cinnamon. EDIT: made it again today and doubled the recipe so I had some to put in a bottle for later. This time I used corn starch instead of flour and took it off the stove much sooner, had a much runnier consistency but it was better that way then day 1 when it was extremely thick. Thank you so much for the recipe Sallyanne!
