Atay Bi Na'na (Mint Tea)

- 2 teaspoons chinese gunpowder green tea
- 1 bunch fresh mint leaves
- 4 -8 teaspoons sugar
directions
- Warm a teapot by swirling a little hot water around the teapot then discarding it. Put the tea in the teapot, add the mint leaves, and 1-2 tsp sugar per person, according to taste. Pour in boiling water and stir once only. Infuse for 5 minutes then serve in your beautiful tea glasses or tea cups and serve at once.

I love this! The mint in this is great.. (I'd only drank green tea once before and didn't think I liked it!!) I used organic green tea bags and followed the packages directions by waiting a minute after the water boiled to add it to the pot with the tea bags and and I steeped it just 3 minutes as the package called for, then I removed the tea bags and steeped for the rest of the time called for in this recipe. A very refreshing tea. I made 2 changes. Added no sugar, since we don't like sweet tea, and used lemon mint from the garden, which added a subtle citrus flavor. I will make again and try spearmint next time. Made for Ramadan 2009 Tag.
