  1. You're right: This is quick, easy and cheap. I used Lennie's Copycat Taco Bell Taco Sauce, #34198, instead of commercial taco sauce, and boy, it gave it lots of flavor! We topped our servings with lettuce, tomato, onions, and shredded cheddar. YUM! Thanks for sharing. Laudee C.

  2. This recipe couldn't have been easier. It was very tasty too!

  3. This recipe intrigued me, however I wasn't sure what to expect from my family. Anything that looks like a casserole or has the name casserole in it, well you might as well think I conjured up dinner from a garbage can. But they absolutely loved this recipe. I was quite suprised. I served it with lettuce, cheese, chopped tomatoes, sour cream etc. They loved having tortilla chips with it too. I only had one (7 oz.) jar of taco sauce in the pantry at the time and it worked out well. Thanks for the recipe!

  4. I didn't tell anyone it had Bisquick in it, so they didn't expect a "crust"- I thought the taste was great and my family ate the whole dish- everyone had seconds! Very good!

  5. I think I did something wrong with this, as the "crust" didn't form right. It had a great taste though, so I added some salsa, put it on a burrito shell with chedder cheese, poured on some encallada(?) sause, heated in the oven and it turned out great.

Tweaks

  1. Very easy and very good! I used penne pasta since that is what I had on hand. I also doubled all the spices, substituted a can of mild green chilies for the bell pepper and used cheddar cheese along with a 6 cheese Italian blend. I also used a lot more cheese than it called for. I mixed the Italian blend cheese with the pasta before adding the meat mixture on top. I topped it of with the cheddar cheese. For the last few minutes of heating it in the oven, I put it on broil so baked the cheese a bit.

  2. This was yummy! I used salsa instead of taco sauce and it was great. My kids ate a ton of it and then took leftovers for lunch the next day. A great, quick, weeknight recipe!
