  1. Tasty and so easy! I didn't put any sesame seeds on them, instead I rolled them in unsalted butter mixed with garlic salt. (kinda defeated the purpose of the unsalted butter, but who cares it tasted good :) I upped the amount of flour by 1/4 cup, as someone else suggested, and the dough was perfect! I made them to go with a copycat recipe on this site for The Olive Garden's Pasta E Fagioli. I will definitely have this recipe on hand every night I make pasta! It was such a cinch!

  2. Very good end result Inez, I followed the recipe exactly but ended up with a very very sticky dough, would never be able to roll it out, couldn't even knead it, had to add about another 1/4 cup of flour. Next time, I will use less milk and probably only 2 tablespoons of butter, there was a lot of butter left in the pan after rolling the sticks. In any case, there will be a next time, they are delicious! (made them for dinner tonight, but of course had to test them while still warm, nummmy!!!!)Thanks for sharing.

  3. These were very easy to make. I didn't have sesame seed so I added garlic salt to the butter, then sprinkled them with parmasan cheese. They turned out great! Thanks for the recipe.

  4. i tried this and didn't care for the dough. i agree with the previous post that it was VERY sticky and i had trouble using it further. i was also surprised at how small the dough was and couldn't get 12 adult size bread sticks out of it.

  5. My husband made a feast of a dinner for me last night and it started with warm breadsticks straight from the oven. These were wonderful! I can't believe my husband actually made me breadsticks from SCRATCH! Thanks!

  1. Thank you so much for posting this!! Made it twice in 24 hours heh. First time I used garlic salt instead of sesame seeds (didn't have any) and second time when it had 10 minutes left to bake I put some generous handfuls of mozzerella cheese over them, ended up with what seemed a true copy of cheesy bread from dominos!!! Which is the only thing that used to make me order from dominos heh THANK YOU so much for posting this!!!

  2. Made these tonight - family & I thought they were pretty darn good. I used parmesan cheese instead of sesame seeds. I'm looking forward to trying these with a cinnamon sugar topping!

  3. Very easy and yummy. I skipped the sesame seeds since I didn't have any. Used olive oil in place of butter and sprinkled on garlic powder and garlic salt.

  4. These turned out very puffy and soft and were super fast to make. Definitely a good choice when you're short on time! I subbed olive oil and garlic for the butter and sesame seeds.

  5. These were really good, but they tasted a lot of biscuits instead of the breadstick taste I was expecting. I also had the same experience as Aprilshowers did. They hardened within a few minutes, and that was that, so I advise them to be timed correctly so they'll be eaten right right as they come out of the oven.

After DH and I moved away from the farm, and to the city...I haven't done as much cooking and very little canning. But I do come to Zaar and look for new recipes once in a while. I'm still cooking Zaar!! I like to play at Facebook, with my family and friends. A lot of my Zaar friends are there!! Yay! It's a good way to keep in touch. We travel more. We're looking at the European trips now. Hope to go in the springtime. I really want to see London, I think I lived there in a past life, I've been obsessed with it since I was 10 years old!!
