- 3 (3 ounce) packages gelatin, any flavor
- 4 (7 g) envelopes plain gelatin, like knox (one 1 oz box = four envelopes)
- 3 cups boiling water
- 1⁄2 pint whipping cream
directions
- Mix unflavored and flavored gelatin in a heat proof bowl. Add boiling water and stir until completely dissolved. Stir in whipping cream.
- Pour into 13x9 pan and chill until firm. About 4 hours. (The cream will rise during chilling, forming two layers, a creamy layer and a clear layer.).
- To serve: cut into any desired shape and eat as a finger food.

Our mom made these while we were growing up... We'd devour the entire tray within 24 hours. LOL Only difference is she used HEAVY cream rather than whipping (difference is heavy cream's fat content is 36%, while whipping is 30%). IF YOUR'S ISN'T SEPARATING: after water comes to a boil, pull it off the burner & WHISK the gelatin mix in. Once dissolved, WAIT 1-2 MINUTES BEFORE ADDING THE CREAM.
