  1. WOW ~Nimz~, this was really easy and VERY delicious. DD even ate it and she hardly ever eats anything with tomatoes or okra in it. DH loved it, and so did I. It smelled especially good cooking. I must admit, I did it all in one pot as I was not feeling up to par, and wanted to make it even easier than it was :) I also added 1/2 teaspoon of cumin, but other than that I followed the recipe as written. Thanks ~Nimz~ for the great recipe. Made for ~Nimz~ win for Football Pool 2008, Week #8.

  2. I really liked this soup. It's very easy to put together making it a perfect weeknight dinner. It does make a lot, though. It didn't all fit into my soup pot so I had to ladle some of the potatoes into the serving dishes and ladle the soup over them. Edited to add: I had to upgrade to 5 stars. DH has been raving about how the soup gets better everyday since making it and he wants me to make it again.

  3. This soup was fantastic! It went together so easily and I love the combination of flavors. I don't care for okra so just used regular tomatoes, otherwise made as specified. We really loved this soup and I will be making it often!

  4. My sons love soup - even during the hot summer months - so I made this for them to have for lunch. They really enjoyed it and so did I! We love anything with cabbage in it! Thanks for sharing!

  5. This was so easy and very good! I didn't have cabbage so added an extra potato and used frozen okra and a can of diced tomatoes. We really enjoyed this on a rainy evening. Thanks for a new keeper!

I was one of the original members of Recipezaar that was truly a community of individuals that enjoyed each other in forums and chat rooms. I've been a member of this site since 2003. Made some tremendous friends that I still think of often. I'll continue coming here because my recipes are here and so many more that I tried over the years as a member. It's just a tad boring now and just another recipe site like all the rest. Sad.
