Fava bean
A tan flat bean which looks like an overgrown lima bean. The large pod is inedible, unless very young. Habas are dried fava beans with the skins removed.

Available dried, canned or fresh. Choose fresh fava beans that are not bulding with beans.
How to prepare
Blanch them first to remove the tough, inedible outer shell.
