'Donut Boy' Delivers Doughnuts to Cops Nationwide
A little bit of gratitude and a lotta bit of doughnuts.

All superheroes have an origin story. Peter Parker was bitten by a radioactive spider to become Spiderman. Superman? Well, he was born this way. For “Donut Boy,” things were a bit simpler: he just decided to attempt one of the noblest doughnut distribution plans ever seen: give a deep-fried dough ring to every cop in the country.
When nine-year-old Tyler Carach ran into a couple police officers in his local doughnut shop in Florida last August, he probably didn’t expect that the encounter would take him on a trip across the nation. He just wanted to thank the kind cops for all of their hard work, so he bought them some mini doughnuts with his very own money.
A little over a year and 28,000 doughnuts later, Donut Boy’s mission is well underway. He (and his mother) are documenting the experience on the Facebook page titled, “I DONUT need a reason to THANK a cop,” and they are looking to attain 501c3 status in order to apply for grants. To keep his dream alive, local doughnut shops have been providing him with treats to distribute.
Now, in honor of Tyler’s 10th birthday, he will be taking a 10-day trip to 10 different states where he will be able to say thanks with doughnuts and coffee to officers in Houston, Las Vegas, Salt Lake City and other major cities. He might even get some police department patches along the way.
Donut Boy may be small, but he sure knows how to use his powers for good.
