Knock, knock.

If you’re in the Frisco, Texas, area and you’ve seen an increase in creepy balloon-carrying clown sightings over the past 24 hours, there’s no need to fear; it’s probably (hopefully) just your average, not-so-average doughnut delivery.

Hurts Donut, which prides itself on keeping up with the trends, is cashing in on the present popularity of clowns (unofficially thanks to the film It, which was released in cinemas on September 8th) by using them as a vehicle for doughnut delivery. Customers who really hate their friends can pay a $5 scary clown fee on top of the regular $5 delivery fee to have a masked prankster drop off a box of doughnuts at the location of their choice (as long as it’s in Frisco). The delivery option is limited to September 25th and 26th, but based on the viral success of the shop’s clownish campaign, it’s possible that they will be performing “out of town clown deliveries” at a later date.

In the meantime, if you’d like to see the reactions of some poor souls who have received these deliveries, you can do so on the Hurts Donut Facebook page. We certainly feel their emotional pain.
