Tim Hortons’ New Buffalo Latte Is Exactly What It Sounds Like

Now it’s OK to hit the sauce first thing in the morning.

This has been a season for upheavals in the coffee world. Most notably, Starbucks tried to upstage its category-defining Pumpkin Spice Latte with a new Maple Pecan Latte. Drop everything, though, because on Thursday morning Tim Hortons announced a doozy that’s bound to leave you hot and bothered: a Buffalo Latte.

That can’t be right… a Buffalo Latte? What, is it made with buffalo milk?

Nope. Buffalo, as in Buffalo sauce. The sauce that you put on chicken wings.

“Tim Hortons and Buffalo sauce were both born in 1964, so why not take these two Buffalo staples and combine them?” said Stephen Goldstein, the regional president of the coffee and doughnuts chain. “The unlikely pairing of sweet mocha and tangy Buffalo sauce come together to create an unexpectedly delicious sweet and spicy treat we hope our guests will enjoy.”

We’re feeling slightly repulsed, but also very intrigued. It is football season after all, and we’re using any excuse to live and breathe Buffalo wings. So why shouldn’t we be able to drink them too?

The Buffalo Latte will be available for $2.79 at two Tim Hortons locations in Buffalo, New York, while supplies last, so unfortunately for everyone who doesn’t live in Buffalo, this new brew might be a bit difficult to get your hands on. That doesn’t mean you can’t try.
