She may be a snow goddess and the first woman to ever score a perfect 100 points in competition, but at least we know she suffers from the same mortal afflictions as the rest of us.

After flying into first place with a stellar run on Tuesday in Pyeongchang, American halfpipe legend Chloe Kim, 17, revealed a slight problem from the top of the slope at Phoenix Snow Park.

“Wish I finished my breakfast sandwich but my stubborn self decided not to and now I'm getting hangry,” she tweeted, mid-competition. Hanger, of course, being the anger that takes over your mind, body and soul when you are hungry.

She managed to push the hanger aside, though, and went on to win the gold medal with a killer, near-perfect score of 98.25, providing inspiration to all of us who might be getting a little grumpy at work as lunchtime approaches.

Kim, who hails from the great state of California, has tweeted about her tummy three times since the beginning of the 2018 Olympic Games.

On Sunday, she found confidence in the doughy Mexican dessert stick that is the churro, tweeting acontextually, “Oh and I also had 2 churros today and they were pretty bomb so if you ever get nervous go eat a churro.”

On Monday, her focus had turned to frozen dairy, even as winds whipped and temperatures in Pyeongchang descended to -4 degrees Fahrenheit. Kim tweeted, “Could be down for some ice cream rn,” “rn,” of course, filling in for “right now.”

To fete her gold medal, Kim was greeted backstage by New York restaurateur and fellow first generation Korean American David Chang, who had a fresh plate of churros stuffed with ice cream at the ready.

“Yo! That is bomb!” Kim exclaimed after taking a bite and before asking Chang for the recipe.

Exceptional hanger cures for an exceptional young athlete.
