“A fast dish I make on a semi-regular basis as it is so fast and the kids like it. Broccoli can be changed for cauliflower or corn. This sauce cooks faster than it takes to boil and cook pasta, it's also good on rice or in a large baked potato.”

Ingredients Nutrition

  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 1 onion, chopped fine
  • 1 teaspoon garlic
  • 1 tablespoon flour
  • 425 g salmon (liquid, skin and bones removed)
  • 1 (425 g) can cream of chicken soup
  • 2 cups finely chopped pre cooked broccoli
  • 12 cup cream
  • pepper


  1. Cook your broccoli for 2-3 minutes in about 1/4 cup of water (I use the microwave), while you are waiting for this:
  2. Melt the butter in a large skillet and gently fry the onions until translucent (about 2 minutes). Add the garlic and cook until fragrant (30 - 60 seconds). Add the flour and stir well over a low heat for 1 minute, while stirring constantly.
  3. Add the soup, broccoli (and the liquid it cooked in) and salmon, stir well to break up the salmon. Cook for 3-4 minutes.
  4. Add the cream and stir well. Cook over a low heat (the cream will curdle if heated too high) for 1 - 2 minutes. Add the pepper and stir through.
  5. Toss through cooked pasta and serve!
