14 Minute Maple Candy

  • 4 cups maple syrup
  • 1 cup cream
  • 14 cup butter
  • 1 cup nutmeats, chopped
  • 1 teaspoon lemon extract

directions

  • Cook the maple syrup, cream, and butter for 9 minutes after the boiling point is reached.
  • Remove from heat, add the nut meats and extract and stir for 5 minutes.
  • Pour into buttered pans and when cool, cut into squares.

  1. Just made these, making 1/8 the recipe and using vanilla instead of lemon extract. They're delicious, but gooey. Is that right, or will they /should they harden up? Thanks for posting this...I love the directions in minutes post boiling...great for those of us without candy thermometers!
