Directions

  1. Place all ingredients, except jam and wine, into a heavy pot.
  2. Add water to cover contents by about 2 inches and simmer over low heat, stirring occasionally with wooden spoon.
  3. Add water, as needed, so that mixture does not stick to pot.
  4. Cook for at least 60 minutes or until ingredients have come together.
  5. Stir in cherry jam.
  6. Let stand until cool.
  7. Add sweet wine to be absorbed by the mixture.
  8. Refrigerate until serving.
