“This really works. Next time I will add more sugar to make it a little stickier. I added lavender essential oil to my recipe, and my hair smells really yummy whenever I spray. Who knew how inexpensive and fast it is to make your own hairspray. No longer will I pay for hairspray that puts chemicals in my hair and costs more than it should. Serving size is estimated.”

Ingredients Nutrition

  • 1 cup water (some say use filtered, I used regular water)
  • 4 teaspoons sugar (or more or less according to how strong you want the spray)
  • 6 -8 drops essential oils

Directions

  1. Heat water in a saucepan to boiling.
  2. Add sugar and stir to dissolve.
  3. Allow to cool. Add essential oils if you are using (I like lavender).
  4. Place in spray bottle. A funnel comes in handy to get it in the bottle without spilling.
