  • 12 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 cup butter
  • 1 egg yolk
  • 2 12 cups flour
  • 12 lb sliced then broken almonds
  • 12 teaspoon almond extract

  • Beat butter until soft.
  • Add sugar gradually.
  • Blend until light and creamy.
  • Beat in egg yolk and flour.
  • Add almonds and extract.
  • Chill dough for at least an hour to make easier to work with.
  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
  • Roll about 1 tablespoon of dough between hands and form into crescent shape.
  • Place on greased cookie sheet.
  • Bake for 10-15 minutes.
  • Roll in powdered sugar (may have to re-roll when cool).
