- 1⁄2 cup powdered sugar
- 1 cup butter
- 1 egg yolk
- 2 1⁄2 cups flour
- 1⁄2 lb sliced then broken almonds
- 1⁄2 teaspoon almond extract
directions
- Beat butter until soft.
- Add sugar gradually.
- Blend until light and creamy.
- Beat in egg yolk and flour.
- Add almonds and extract.
- Chill dough for at least an hour to make easier to work with.
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
- Roll about 1 tablespoon of dough between hands and form into crescent shape.
- Place on greased cookie sheet.
- Bake for 10-15 minutes.
- Roll in powdered sugar (may have to re-roll when cool).
