  1. Mix together thoroughly: 1 cup softened butter
  2. 1/3 cup sugar.
  3. 2/3 cup ground almonds.
  4. Sift together and work in:.
  5. 1 2/3 cup flour.
  6. 1/4 teaspoon salt.
  7. Chill dough.
  8. Cut into pieces, roll each piece pencil thick.
  9. Cut into 2 1/2" lengths.
  10. Form into crescents on ungreased cookie sheet.
  11. Bake until set -- not brown.
  12. Cool on pan.
  13. While slightly warm, carefully dip in sifted powdered sugar and roll.
