Aloha Meatballs

"I got this out of a Fat-Free cookbook, Fat Free Living, along time ago, and I still make them every now and then. This is a good appetizer recipe. These are like a sweet and sour meatball. Very tasty, and no one will know they are lowfat if you don't tell them. Shhhhhh!"

  1. This is a light and refreshing dish. I made it exacty as stated only instead of making meatballs with it, I patted it down in a loaf pan and made it a meatloaf. After baking it about a hour and 15 minutes, I sliced it on a platter and drizzled the sauce over it. Then I served the remaining sauce in a bowl for those who wanted more. Thank you bratty1, I have added this to my collection.

  2. I made these to take to my husband's office party. I liked that is was low fat because everyone there is watching their weight. I used regular chicken broth and soy sauce because I gotta have my salt. These were very good appetizer meatballs. They had a great sweet and sour taste and were easy to put together. Thanks bratty 1.

  3. I liked these, but was not overly impressed with the sauce. I think it was the ginger...for some reason I feel it doesn't really go with this dish. I would make it again, but with a different sauce.

  4. This review is just for the meatballs, I didn't make the sauce. Used white rice, 1/2 tsp onion powder and cut the ginger to 1/2 tsp. They were GREAT! Very moist, very flavorful. Served a pineapple sweet and sour sauce over them and they were delicious, thanks!

  5. Out of this world Bratty! I am not much of a sweet and sour person but these meatballs are outstanding!! I highly recommend everyone to make these delicious meatballs. I used ground turkey. YUM! I know I will be making these often. They really were simple to make and didn't take long to bake even. Its a keeper! Thanks for sharing Bratty!
