Directions

  1. Sift dry ingredients into a larger mixing bowl.
  2. Add shortening and mix until coarse.
  3. Dissolve yeast in warm water and add to mixture.
  4. Add buttermilk.
  5. Mix until smooth.
  6. Put in greased bowl and cover.
  7. Cool in refrigerator for at least 30 minutes.
  8. Knead dough.
  9. Cut into biscuits.
  10. Bake until tops of biscuits brown.
