"This is another of my mother's great recipes. All of the grand kids asked for them, so she had them on hand most of the time packed in an empty Cool Whip container."

  • Cream together sugars, shortening, egg, salt, soda and vanilla.
  • Blend in remaining ingredients. Dough will be stiff.
  • Press into greased pan.
  • Bake 20 - 25 minutes at 350º in a 9 x 13 pan.

Newly retired. Planning to cook more often with the extra time I have. My husband loves my kielbasa, kraut, and dumpling recipe. I also make a great pancake and apple dojun. I am known for burning the buns at holidays. Hmm.
