- 1 cup butter, softened
- 2 cups sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 2 cups buttermilk
- 4 cups flour
- 2 teaspoons baking soda
- 2⁄3 cup sugar
- 2 teaspoons cinnamon
directions
- Cream together the butter, 2 cups of sugar and eggs.
- add milk, flour and baking soda.
- butter and flour 2 loaf pans.
- pour 1/4 of the batter into each loaf pan.
- mix the cinnamon and 2/3 cup of sugar together.
- sprinkle 1/4 of the cinnamon mixture on top of the batter.
- add the remaining batter to each of the pans.
- add the remaining sugar mixture to the top of the batter mixture.
- swirl the batter in each pan with a knife.
- bake at 350 F for 50 - 60 minutes, checking with a toothpick or knife towards the end to come out clean.
- cool 20 minutes in pan - if you can wait that long!
