  1. Ok -- I'm a FoodTV junkie and especially a Rachael Ray fan. So if you will pardon my obviously stolen words, all I can say about this recipe is, "OH MY GRAVY"!!! This was awesome. I used vidalia onions, fuji apples and I swapped out the white vinegar in favor of apple cider vinegar using 1 tablespoon instead of 2 (only because my family tends more to the sweet than tangy side. I sauteed it down til the onions and apples began to actually get that brown edge bottom of the pan crusty thing going. You know what I mean? Now here's the kicker -- how we ate them. You won't believe it. We topped turkey burgers with the onions and apples, melted swiss cheese and some crispy bacon strips. YUM-OOOOOO!!! Total total total keeper recipe. THANK YOU!!! Made for the Auzzie/NZ Recipe Swap #25.

  4. Mum- this is terrific. I made this while at my mom's in Cali. as I did much of the cooking there. As there were 24 people coming for dinner, I made lots of pork chops and topped this off with your recipe. This was Saturday dinner and everyone enjoyed the flavors of the topping. As I made a huge amount, I used 10 apples, 2 large onions, 1 red and 1 white, 3 Tbsp. sugar and 5 Tbsp vinegar and 5 Tbsp butter (no salt) In the recipe multiplier it called for more but I did it on taste as opposed to numbers. This seemed to work out well. I will now be able to make it as stated fror 4 servings and will post again. Made for Aus/NZ swap Oct09.

  5. This was so easy to make and so much more "grown up" than our usual apple sauce mush we have with pork. I used white wine vinegar and brown sugar and loved this!
