Syrup
- 2 cups water
- 2 cups sugar
- 1⁄2 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1⁄2 teaspoon clove
- 1⁄2 cup butter

Biscuit Dough
- 2 cups flour
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 tablespoon baking powder
- 2 tablespoons sugar
- 1⁄2 cup shortening
- 3⁄4 cup milk

Filling
- 4 cups grated peeled apples
- 1 cup cook cranberries or 1 cup whole berry cranberry sauce
- 1⁄2 cup walnuts, chopped
directions
- Syrup: Combine the first 4 ingredients and boil for 5 minutes. Remove from heat and add butter.
- Dough:.
- Mix dry ingredients and cut in shortening. Gradually add milk,tossing to make a soft dough. Roll out on a floured board to form 12 x 18 inch rectangle.
- To prepare:.
- Spread the dough with the apples, cranberries and nuts. Roll up like a jelly roll and cut into 1 inch slices. Place in a 9 x 13 inch pan. Pour hot syrup over all and bake in a 425F oven for 40 minutes.
- Serve warm.
