  1. Place all ingredients except the cranberries in a saucepan.
  2. Bring to a boil, then simmer, partially covered about 15 minutes until apples are softened and liquid is thickened.
  3. Add cranberries and simmer an additional 5 minutes.
  4. Stores well for a welcome addition to "at work" oatmeal!
