Apple Cranberry Topping

"Awesome apple topping for oatmeal, waffles, yogurt, ice cream or anything that needs a little kickstart. If you like your topping a little thicker, add a tiny bit of dissolved cornstarch (--1/2 teaspoon) at the very end."

  • Place all ingredients except the cranberries in a saucepan.
  • Bring to a boil, then simmer, partially covered about 15 minutes until apples are softened and liquid is thickened.
  • Add cranberries and simmer an additional 5 minutes.
  • Stores well for a welcome addition to "at work" oatmeal!
