Apple 'dump' Cake - No Cake Mix Needed!

"Yesterday, while in a Thrift Shop in Paia, Maui, I found a spiral-bound cookbook called Maui's Marvelous Munchies. Many of the recipes start with a box or can of something and I always bake from scratch -- this recipe though, looks like a good go-to cake when you're in a hurry. I'm posting here to check nutritional info."

directions

  • Preheat oven to 325°.
  • Grease a 9x13" pan.
  • Excluding the Chopped Nuts, put all ingredients in a mixing bowl and beat on medium speed for 3 minutes.
  • Add Chopped Nuts to mixture and pour into prepared pan and bake for 1 hour.
  • PLEASE NOTE: The instructions end with 'bake for 1 hour' but it seems to me like this would be good served warm or completely cooled.

  1. Hi There, I do agree that a cake is better made from scratch, this cake is exactly what you say a good cake to make when you are in a hurry. I made this just before serving dinner and when my dinner guest left to go home, he went home with half the cake. I made it to the recipe but when I make it again I would be inclined to put it in a wee bit smaller tin as it was a bit thinner than I would of liked. But it was a very nice cake it would be really nice with a custard sauce as a pudding, I think I will have that for lunch tomorrow. Thank you for a very nice recipe. Made for PAC spring 20010
