  1. These pancakes are outstanding! The soaking of the oats in the water/butter is well worth the extra time it takes because it really adds to the rich and nutty taste of these pancakes. Hearty and filling, yet fluffy - loved these - thanks for sharing the recipe!

  2. These are really great. Even DH who doesn't eat pancakes ate one.I also found the batter a little to thick so I add some yogurt I had in the fridge and that did the trick. thanks

  3. These were really really good! Unfortunately I only realised that there weren't any apples left in the tree when I'd already started to make it....In the end I used 1/2 an apple and 1/2 a banana!!!! I also have to admit that I had a bit of a problem turning them but what does it matter when they taste so yummy? Thanks for posting this recipe!

  4. Very delicious recipe! I too found it was necessary to thin the batter with about 1/4 cup of milk. I halved the recipe and it made about 15 3-4" pancakes. They took a bit longer to cook then regular pancakes and browned a bit more than I would have usually liked, but still tasted great! Rather than shredding the apple I chopped it up finely in my Kitchenaid food chopper. This kept my 2 boys busy while I was getting the rest of the batter together and making some Apple Cinnamon Syrup (#80419 - excellent!) to go with. (They love pounding on the chopper! It could keep them busy for hours!) One more thing - I did not let the apple/water/butter mixture sit for 20 minutes like the recipe states because we were too hungry to wait that long! I let it sit maybe 5 minutes and it was perfectly fine that way. Thanks for a meal we all enjoyed!!

  5. The flavor of these pancakes are outstanding. I didn't find them to be too thick. They were a little difficult to turn. DH loved them. His comments were "they are much more moist than the last few you've made" I took a single bite, plain and they had a wonderful flavor. I wish I wasn't dieting. But I'll be keeping this for future use.
