  1. Preheat oven to 350.
  2. Peel and core the apples and pears.
  3. Place apples and pears into a sauce pan add 1/2 cup sugar, stick of butter and 1 teaspoon cinnamon and 1/2 cup water.
  4. Saute for 5 minutes.
  5. In a large bowl, combine the flour, salt, remaining 1/2 cup sugar, 1 1/2 cup milk, 1/2 cup buttermilk.
  6. pour over fruit and sprinkle with nutmeg.
  7. to make the caramel sauce, combine the jar of caramel syrup, brown sugar, water and butter in a saucepan and heat.
  8. Serve the cobbler with vanilla ice cream and pour the caramel overall and serve warm.
