Apple Pie Bread in Bread Machine

I really liked the *idea* of this bread, and the house smelled wonderful while this was baking. BUT...it was just too bland. I had expected it to be sweet and it wasn't. Maybe it's not supposed to be or maybe it was my pie filling? I don't know, but I don't think I'll be making it again. Sorry.

Just like nessa1021 I didn't like this bread. It was very very dense and heavy. It did smell wonderful when it was in the breadmaker, but the end result wasn't what my family liked. It's a great idea, but just not my cup of tea. I am sorry.

This bread is wonderful. I added a half cup of dried fruit morsels into the mixture and this gave the bread a sweeter flavor because my apple pie filling was not very sweet on its own. Thanks for the great recipe, I'll be making this again and again. Linda

My family and friends really enjoyed this bread. It is very easy to make. I did adjust the recipe for what ingredients I had on hand. I omitted the water and dry buttermilk and just used regular buttermilk. My bread turned out very good. I served it with cream cheese icing on the side for those that wanted it a little sweeter.

This bread didn't work for me. I'm not sure whether it was my machine, the recipe, both. I made it ages ago, by the recipe a friend gave me. She let the ABM knead it, and then took it out and baked it separately, and put a glaze over it. I think maybe adding more of the spices would help.
