  1. A girlfriend of mine gave me a bunch of cooking apples from her tree....I didn't know what to do with them, and I wasn't in the mood for apple pie. I made this recipe today and it turned out wonderful!! My three year old son kept saying "this is yummy cake mom", I knew then that this was a keeper recipe. I did cut back on the amount of sugar by half and it still had more than enough sweetness and baked it in a bundt pan. It is a very thick batter, thank goodness for my Kitchenaid. I can't wait to have my morning coffee tomorrow because I know that this will be great with it....that's if the rest of my family don't finish it before then.

  2. I needed to use up some apples and I stumbled across this recipe. I WAS unprepared for the thickness of this batter, because it had to be scooped into the pans. (I used 2 loaf pans and baked for 1 hour). This turned out great, Thanks for posting!

  4. It's in the oven and I happened to lick the scraper just to check it out and WOW WOW WOW. I used apple pie spice instead of plain cinnamon and brown sugar just to add a little of that caramel touch.
