Apple Squares

ingredients
- 1⁄4 cup plus 2 tbsp. butter or 1/4 cup margarine
- 2 eggs
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 1⁄4 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 2 cups tart apples, peeled and chopped
- 1⁄2 cup walnuts, chopped
directions
- Combine butter, eggs, sugar, soda, vanilla, cinnamon and flour in a large bowl. Beat until well mixed.
- Add apples and nuts; stir to mix.
- Scrape into greased 9x9-inch pan.
- Bake in 350F oven 40-50 minutes.
- Cool 15 minutes. Sift icing sugar over top. Cut into 36 squares.

<br>I guess the dish that I am famous for is my Christmas ham - my family all comes home for Christmas, and if i don't have my ham they are dissapointed, and my grandson wants the pistachio squares!!! so I guess that is the dishes that I'm famous for.
