  • Cut the peeled and cored apples into eighths lengthwise and place in slow cooker.
  • Mix together in this order sugar tapioca, candy, and water and pour over apples.
  • Cook on high for 3-4 hours.
  • Serve hot, and top with whipped cream.

  1. This is really tasty. I'm not sure I'd call it a pudding, it's a bit more like a compote or sauce. I made half the recipe, which was pretty much all my smaller crockpot would hold. I had two very large and two average apples. Instead of the red hots, I just used a teaspoonful of cinnamon. A cinnamon stick would work well, also. I think this would be lovely spooned over pancakes or waffles, or over a plain cake serving, as well as with pork or poultry. While I used at least two types of apples, next time I would include a granny smith or other tarter variety.
