Apple Wild Rice Breakfast

"A great breakfast, especially if camping. Make the rice the night before. One-fourth cup raw wild rice will yield 1 cup cooked rice."

  1. This was super easy to make. I used Tish's recipe for wild rice in the rice cooker #106087. I did not melt the butter but instead sprayed the pan with a little spray and then put a little butter spray on the apples. I also used splenda. The problem is that I think perhaps I'm not a fan of wild rice. I have had it in a medley before, but never on its own, and I was not terribly fond of the texture. I think this is a great recipe if you like wild rice, it just may not be for me. Thanks for posting it. I love trying different things. I don't find that I love them all, but that's fine by me!

  2. What a great way to get a healthy grain in at breakfast! I didn't have cinnamon, but I had Mixed Sweet Spice (94921), so I used that. I topped with almond milk. Yummy winter breakfast.

I enjoy baking and cooking. My favorite dessert is pie, no cookies. Well, they are all my favorite! I have two sons who also enjoy cooking. I'm inspired by the wonderful cooks who contribute to this web site. When not cooking I enjoy knitting, especially socks.
