"This cake recipe was given to me by a friend at work. It needs to be made a day ahead. It is so moist and wonderful. You will definately want to share this one with your friends."

ingredients

  • 1 yellow cake mix
  • 34 cup apricot nectar
  • 34 cup oil
  • 4 eggs
  • 1 teaspoon lemon flavoring
  • Glaze

  • 12 cup powdered sugar
  • 2 lemons, juice of

directions

  • Mix all ingredients well.
  • Bake 1 hour in 300 F oven in a greased and floured bundt pan.
  • Mix glaze ingredients and pour over cake while still hot.

  1. I grew up with this a recipe almost the same as this one, the only difference is that we use a lemon cake mix instead of yellow. I have always loved this recipe, and everyone that has tried it has too.
     
  2. This recipe came to me from my best friend about 20 years ago & I have made it many times a year ever since & for all age groups. EVERYONE loves this cake. I actually mailed it to our son when he was in college! I use lime instead of lemon in the glaze. If the cake is crumbly you're probably cooking it too long.

  4. I agree with justcallmetoni, the only problem I had with this cake was keeping DH out of it and I was unsuccessful doing that. It did get to sit for about 6 hours before he swapped a piece. I love this cake. I used a lemon cake mix instead of yellow and put it in a 9X11 dish. Cooked it for 45 minutes and it was perfect. My sister makes it all the time and it's one of her favorites and mine. Thanks JQ.
     
  5. This was really moist and delicious! I think it would be nice to sprinkle some powdered sugar on top to decorate but otherwise everything was just right.
