  1. Pre-heat oven to 350°F.
  2. Cream butter and sugar. Add eggs.
  3. Mix dry ingredients together (setting walnuts aside).
  4. Add buttermilk and dry mixture alternately to creamed butter/sugar/egg mixture.
  5. Mix well. Add vanilla and lemon extract. Fold in walnuts.
  6. Pour mixture into a tubed pan (greased and floured).
  7. Bake in 350° F oven until center tests done with a toothpick (50-60 minutes).
  8. Remove from pan and let cool.
