directions

  • Cover artichoke with water and cook about 45 minutes until fork pierces through stem and leaf pulls off easily.
  • Remove to a plate. Dip leaves in Miracle Whip, and pull leaf through clamped teeth.
  • Don't eat the choke which is the prickly part in the center of the artichoke, and around the heart which is the best part of the artichoke. It just peels away, and yes you can eat the stem it's good too.
  • Some people dip the leaves in melted butter but that's not how we did it.

  1. I wanted to try my hand at making artichokes for my friend and I to try. This recipe was just what I was looking for! Thanks for the recipe. Now I can make them anytime! I didn't dip them in Miracle Whip. Instead I dipped mine in some melted butter with lemon and sea salt. Excellent!

  4. Thank you!!! I wasn't really sure how to cook an artichoke! I had them once and the people just pulled the leaves through clamped teeth and that was great, but wasn't sure about the rest of the artichoke. So, this is wonderful!!! I love the marinated artichokes, so I know I will love this!!! I think I will try it with garlic and butter or maybe some Italian dressing. Love, Becky
