  • 3 lbs beef short ribs, trimmed of fat (bone-in)
  • 14 cup honey
  • 14 cup tamari
  • 3 inches piece ginger, peeled and sliced
  • 1 tablespoon Asian chili sauce
  • 6 garlic cloves, chopped
  • 1 bunch scallion, slices
  • 12 ounces rice noodles
  • 2 limes, cut into wedges

  • Put ribs in crockpot and then in a bowl mix together the next 6 ingredients honey - garlic) plus 3/4 of the scallions and 1 1/2 cups water. Pour mixture over ribs. Cover and cook on low for 7-8 hours.
  • Transfer ribs to cutting board and remove meat from bones; skim fat from pot and reserve juices.
  • Prepare noodles according to package directions and drain.
  • Toss with 1 cups of the reserved juices and divide among 6 serving dishs and top with remiaing scallions, lime wedges and additional juices.

  1. We enjoyed this slow cooker meal tonight for dinner. I used boneless short ribs to cut down on the fat and made as directed with one change -- I added a slurry to the sauce to thicken it - just our preference. This made a nice addition over the noodles. Served along with a side salad. Made for PRMR, February, 2014.
