ingredients
- 1 1⁄2 cups natural bran
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 1⁄2 teaspoon salt
- 1 egg
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 2 tablespoons butter (melted)
- 1 cup buttermilk
directions
- Preheat oven to 350°F.
- Whisk together the bran, sugar, salt & flour & baking soda.
- Add the wet ingredients and mix lightly.
- Bake for 20 minutes or till done.
- Enjoy!

Decided to try these out 'cause I want to work on my 'muffin side,' & it was well worth the short time spent making these! Followed the recipe [pretty much], but then I suppose I screwed up a great 100-year-old recipe by adding a handful of raisins! Still, the muffins were great! Thanks much for the posting!
